SC asks Unitech's Sanjay Chandra to pay Rs. 15 crore for bail
In a fraud case relating to a Wild Flowers Country project in Gurgaon, the Supreme Court on Thursday asked Unitech managing director Sanjay Chandra to pay Rs 15 crore to get bail. The apex court will now hear Chandra's bail plea on September 18. The promoters of Unitech Sanjay Chandra and Ajay Chandra are in judicial custody since April in the case. Chandra earlier this month had urged Supreme Court to release him on bail for three months to arrange funds to pay back flat buyers, promising to even sell his house to help clear dues. The company has been fighting several cases of project delays and cheating in different courts of law. Around 13,337 homebuyers in 41 projects of Unitech, primarily in Noida and Gurgaon, are stuck due to delay in delivery.
