K Raheja Corp bags award under 'Building and Construction' category at Green World Awards 2017

Real estate major, K Raheja Corp has been awarded with the esteemed Green World Awards 2017 for their commitment to environmental best practice. K Raheja Corp was the only developer from India to be awarded in the 'Building and Construction' category and competed against over 500 other nominations in the Green World Awards. The event was organised by The Green Organization UK, an international, independent, non-political, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognizing, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice across the globe. K Raheja Corp's winning paper will be published in The Green Book, a leading international work of reference on environmental best practice. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shabbir Kanchwala, Senior Vice President, K Raheja Corp, said “Receiving an accolade at the Green World Awards 2017 amongst distinguished companies and worthy peers is an absolute honour for K Raheja Corp. Our Company has always promoted eco-friendly and sustainable solutions by creating several iconic offerings for India. Awards like these reiterate our commitment, as we continue, through our ecological initiatives, to benefit and provide a sustainable environment that benefits the society at large.” Global establishments from the UK, UAE, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Kenya were also recognized for their contribution to environmental best practice. Some of the key winners in the building and construction category include Delhi Metro Corporation India and Infosys India. From the automotive sector the winners include, Tusker, Kier Infrastructure from UK, Dubai Municipality and Road & Transport Authority from Dubai, Korea Airports Corporation from South Korea, Eswaren Brothers from Sri Lanka. K Raheja Corp had signed a memorandum of understanding with the CII-Green Building Council to construct green buildings, back in 2007. Since then the Group is committed to eco-friendly constructions in both commercial and residential spaces resulting in developing large green expanses across the country.
