The Ghaziabad Development Authority has finalised an 11-member conciliation forum as mandated by the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-Rera) to settle disputes between builders and homebuyers in the city. In Ghaziabad, about 12,000 buyers are currently entangled in disputes with developers. Officials said the forum comprises five members each from residents’ welfare associations and builders’ body Credai and one member from GDA. Their names have been sent to UP-Rera secretary Abrar Ahmed for approval. In November last year, the UP-Rera had proposed the constitution of such forums across 15 development authorities and three industrial authorities in the state, including GDA.
