Builder Sufiyan Aslam Qureshi summoned by Vashi court
The Vashi court has served summons to a city-based builder Sufiyan Aslam Qureshi of realty firm Mega Group and his four employees in a cheating case. The staffers who are co-accused in the case are Yusuf Salim Chaudhary, Junaid Salim Chaudhary, Mansuri Abdul Rehman Abdullah and Chand Badshah Shaikh. The five have been accused of duping a woman, resident of Seawoods, and her son-in-law who had purchased two flats in Ulwe by paying the builder a sum of Rs 71.43 lakh. The complainant had alleged that in 2015 the builder had illegally terminated the sale deed agreement of the two flats in Ulwe purchased by them in 2013. The accused allegedly accepted payments through a bank account in the name of Mega Realtors, the associate of Mega Group construction firm. However, in 2015, the builder terminated the sale deed agreement saying that the complainant had delayed payment of the balance amount for the two flats In September 2016, the APMC police had registered an FIR against the accused builder of Mega Group and his four staffers who had set up their rental office in Satra Plaza building in sector 19D of Vashi. They were booked under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) under the Indian Penal Code and under the provision of the Maharashtra Ownership of Flats Act (MOFA), 1963. The judicial magistrate has directed the accused to remain present in the court on October 30 at 11am.
