Interview with Architect Solomon Canara, Ahmedabad
How did you decide to get into architecture? What fascinated you? I wanted to pursue Civil Engineering but the visit to the CEPT Campus had changed my perspective. The ambiance & the creative paintings by Late Shri PIRAJI SAGARA, the exposed brick walls, the Neem trees peeping out from the large framed openings evoked the inner artist in me to study architecture at this mind swaying campus. What inspired you to start your own practice? While working with AMC, I got an opportunity to design a house for my school classmate a Doctor. Subsequently as I got more exposure & experience, I decided to set up my own firm named SARTHAK – a synonymous for Successful completion. Which would you say has been your most favorite project? Why? The corporate office –The Palladium is my most favorite project. The small office building designed with a glass façade with balanced juxtaposition of glass, façade with oriental door perfectly reveals my style. Source:Zingy Homes
