West Bengal HIRA orders refunds to buyers in 24 cases

Delay in completion and delivery of apartments, withholding of possession despite payment of the entire amount, refusal to pay when the customer seeks refund on account of delay and disputes over common area and other terms mentioned in the sale agreement comprise the bulk of complaints that the West Bengal Housing Industry Regulatory Authority (WBHIRA) has received from home buyers in the past six months. Of the 200-plus complaints against developers, the watchdog agency has disposed of over 150 cases and ordered refunds in 24.
