Vadodara civic body seals 254 properties to recover tax

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) resumed its drive to seal commercial properties in the city to recover pending property tax. The civic body sealed 254 such properties in the city on Tuesday. VMC officials conducted a drive in the commercial hubs of the city to seal such properties. The civic body has earlier warned that it could even auction such properties to recover their taxes. The properties that were sealed included that of a prominent jeweller, sweet shot, restaurant and a saree showroom. VMC made a recovery of Rs 1.18 crore during the drive. This included RS 42.51 towards old pending taxes and the remaining amount towards this financial years demand.
