Uncertainty continues over the issuance of no-objection certificate (NOC) from the airport for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries whose plots are in red zone. AAI and corporation are yet to initiate the joint survey.
Earlier Guruprasad Mohapatra, chairman of AAI had communicated to chief secretary Tom Jose that the affected PMAY dwelling units would be jointly surveyed by city corporation and AAI through the local surveyors or AAI empanelled surveyors on a cost-sharing basis.
“Based on the surveyed data, airport director will process the cases and will issue the NOC for permissible height. The beneficiaries under PMAY will not be required to apply through the no-objection certificate application system (NOCAS),” the letter said.
The decision was made in the wake of reports that the progress of Centre’s PMAY housing scheme had been affected in the city as a good number of PMAY housing beneficiaries had their houses proposed in red zone requiring them to get an NOC from AAI to get building number from city corporation.
