According to a circular, Rs 1,600 should be paid for filing complaints with the authority under Section 31 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
Section 31 states that any aggrieved person may file a complaint with the authority or the adjudicating officer, as the case may be, for any violation or contravention of the provisions of the Act or the rules and regulations made thereunder against any promoter allottee or real estate agent.
The fee has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1,100. Similarly, Rs 5,600 should be paid for filing complaints before the adjudicating officer under sections 12, 14, 18 and 19 of the Act. While Section 19 of the real estate Act is about the rights and duties of homebuyers, Section 18 speaks about return of amount and compensation in the event of a promoter fails to complete or is unable to give possession of an apartment.
The fee revision comes into immediate effect.
