Projects worth over Rs two lakh crore under implementation in 100 smart cities
Since the launch of the smart cities mission 5,151 projects identified by the 100 smart cities are in various stages of implementation, the ministry of housing & urban affairs said in a media release on Thursday.

These projects are worth more than Rs 2,05,018crore (approx.). Out of these, 534 projects worth Rs. 10,116 crore have been completed, implementation has commenced for 1,177 projects with a cost of Rs. 43,493 crore and tendering has started for 677 projects with a cost of Rs. 38,207 crore.
All 100 cities have incorporated Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), the ministry said.
The ministry also approved construction of another 3,10,597 houses under Pradhan MantriAwasYojana-Urban. With this, the cumulative houses sanctioned under the PMAY-Urban is now over 68 lakh houses.
Under the PMAY-Urban, the total investment involved is Rs 3,56,397crore. Interest subsidy of Rs 6,943.95 crore on housing loans has been credited directly to 3,14,703 beneficiaries under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS), the ministry said.
Of the total, over 35 lakh houses have been grounded for construction of which 12.45 lakh houses have been completed.
To complete these houses Rs. 8,000 crore was mobilised under National Urban Housing Fund in FY 2017-18. In FY 2018-19 approval has been secured to raise Rs 25,000 crore.
