The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) will auction properties of those stocking and selling plastic carry-bags if they refuse to pay the fines for the same.
According to an order issued on Friday, the corporation has formed four squads for checking use of plastic bags in fruit, grain and vegetable markets and by street vendors/hawkers.
They will issue challans to violators on a daily basis and their work will be monitored by one nodal officer — a junior engineer.
According to the MCG officials, if any vendor or shopkeeper is found having used or using plastic bags, they will be given challans according to the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, the Haryana Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1998, and an MCG notification dated August 20, 2013.
