PanchsheelBuildtech caught under violation of several environmental norms

Notices were issued to private builder, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and the district magistrate, besides several other authorities by the National Green Tribunal. This came over the petition filed by a Delhi-based environmentalist. The petitioner claimed that the builder of PanchsheelBuildtech, with connivance with government authorities is constructing a high-rise building in Vaishali Sector 3,by violating several environmental norms which include illegal extraction of water from the area already identified as dark zone. He also adds that the description mentioned on the company’s website is entirely different on the actual site. The green part (greenery) shown on the website is covered with cemented slabs leaving no scope for greenery. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the authorities to restrict extraction of groundwater. The petitioner is awaiting strict action against the whole issue.
