More than 95% of the hotels and hospitals in Ghaziabad don’t have the mandatory fire ‘no-objection certificate’ (NOC). This inference can be drawn from a report of the district fire department that comes two days after 17 people died in a hotel fire in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area and a week after the Noida hospital blaze.
According to the report, only 11 out of 300 hotels and 18 out of 500 hospitals have fire NOCs. Also, 94 residential societies across the district don’t possess the certificate. The report, prepared by the fire department following an inspection, has been sent to Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) for action, officials said on Thursday.
