Over 9,000 BPL families in Nalanda &Sheikhpura districts get houses

Altogether 9,445 BPL families of Nalanda and Sheikhpura districts were given houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin on Wednesday. While the Nalanda district administration has constructed 7,845 houses for BPL families, which is slightly higher than its target, Sheikhpura district administration has built 1,600 houses, which is far short of the target. Nalanda DM Thiyagarajan SM thanked the officials of the district administration for the achievement. Sheikhpura DDC Niranjan Kumar Jha said they will take forward the mission with renewed energy. It was Harnaut in Nalanda district, the home turf of chief minister Nitish Kumar, where a maximum of 988 BPL families performed ‘grihpravesh (house- warming)' ceremony on Diwali.
