The district administration has issued notices to 11 developers for violating NGT norms in construction sites in Noida and Greater Noida.
The developers have been asked to reply to the notice within a week, failing which action will be initiated against them.
Shailendra Mishra, city magistrate, said the developers have failed to mitigate dust checking measures in construction sites. “We have issued notices for a fine of Rs 5 lakh each on 11 developers for violating NGT guidelines at their projects in Noida and Greater Noida. Those fined included Shapoorji Pallonji Group for Integrated Industrial Township in Greater Noida, UniberaForeste’s project in Sector 27 Noida, Bhasin Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd’s project in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation’s project in Site 4, Greater Noida, YFC Projects Pvt Ltd’s project in Sector 94 Noida, Dasnac’s in Sector 75, Jaycon Infrastructure Limited’s project in Sector 62, Jaypee Wish Town Noida, Gulshan Homz Pvt Ltd’s project in Sector 129, Ajnara Times Square in Sector 134 Noida, etc,” he said.
Mishra said the district administration was doing sustained enforcement for compliance of NGT order in the twin cities.
“These developers had not covered the construction material at their project sites. They also did not sprinkle water which led to dust pollution in neighboring area. The trucks carrying construction material were also uncovered,” he said.
The city magistrate said the administration would recover penalties from these developers. “If they fail to respond, we will initiate action against them in the tribunal,” he said.
Pankaj Bajaj, president, Credai NCR, said if the administration had issued notices after proper investigation, then developer should pay the fine. “All the developers should follow the NGT guidelines and make construction accordingly,” he said.
