Ludhiana civic body fines hospital Rs 26 lakh for property tax goof-up

With just a day left for the payment of property tax, the Ludhiana municipal corporation on Saturday fined a private hospital in SherpurChowkRs 26 lakh for paying incomplete tax. The MC will also impose heavy fine and interest on property tax defaulters who will miss the deadline. Unlike previous years, there is lesser rush at the MC offices and officials claimed that it has happened as people are opting for online methods to make their payments. Officials are also going to every house to recover the tax. However, officials are expecting more people on Sunday.
