Advocate CP Udayabhanu, who facing conspiracy charges in the case over murder of real estate agent VA Rajeev of Chalakudy, has approached the Kerala High Court
Advocate CP Udayabhanu, who facing conspiracy charges in the case over murder of real estate agent VA Rajeev of Chalakudy, has approached the Kerala High Court for the second time seeking bail. He was arrested on November 1st.
In the present petition for bail, the lawyer has contended that there has been a change of circumstances since the court denied him bail on November 29th and that his continued detention is not required. While denying him bail earlier, the court had said investigation is at its preliminary stage.
Through the present petition, the lawyer points out that more witnesses were questioned by the investigation team since the bail plea was considered by the high court earlier and the probe has reached the final stage.
Further, the lawyer contends that accused one to four, who are said to have committed the murder, have no link with him. He has not met them even once nor has he contacted them over phone, said the bail plea.
He has also alleged that the present allegations against him is the result of a conspiracy involving those who were close to the accused in criminal cases in which he had worked as a special prosecutor.
