The state cabinet on Friday approved the government’s proposal to make the ‘jamabandi’ (entitlement/khaata) of a land mandatory in the rural side before its transfer or sale from one person to the other. Similarly, the second transfer or sale of a flat in an apartment would require the holding number of the flat, cabinet secretariat department principal secretary Sanjay Kumar said.
The notification regarding the cabinet clearance to the government’s proposal regarding ‘jamabandi’ would be issued soon.
The official also said the ‘jamabandi’ regarding the landed property had become mandatory because an offspring of a particular person has been found to resort to the sale or transfer of a land from his or her share even without getting the entitlement (jamabandi/khaata) of the landed property, which lead to court cases.
