Kullu admin seals 37 properties in Parvati valley

The Kullu administration sealed 37 commercial properties, including hotels, guesthouses and restaurants at Jari, Kasol, Manikaran and nearby areas in Parvati valley of Kullu. The drive to seal properties running illegally was undertaken under tight security. The administration had formed three teams to execute the work smoothly. Initially, 48 properties were identified for violating the norms or encroaching on government land. However, 11 owners completed the paper work and other formalities. Only 37 properties failed to complete the formalities despite repeated notices and were now subjected to government action. Kullu’s Parvati valley is notorious for drugs. It is allegedly frequented by a large number of tourists for easy availability of drugs. A number of commercial buildings were raised here without fulfilling the legal norms.
