After the demolition of the tilted building in Tiljala in March, hopes are now high for its reconstruction. The G+4 structure on Shibtala Lane in Tiljala suddenly tilted and dangerously leaned on the adjacent building of similar height on September 24.
Six months after the incident, razing of the structure paved the way for a fresh sanction of constructing another building of equal height and space.
The tilted building had panicked the residents of the area and KMC officials as it posed a threat to the residents of the adjacent building as well. After repeated visits to the building by KMC engineers, a demolition order was issued on September 30 last year. A section of the residents, who had initially refused to move out, later succumbed to pressure from the civic and police administration.
