As Kerala grapples with violations related to real estate sector and grievances of home owners, the state government is likely to notify real estate regulatory authority (Rera) soon after the declaration of election results.
As per the central act, the chairperson and other members of the authority shall be appointed by the appropriate government on the recommendations of a selection committee consisting of the chief justice of the high court or his nominee, the secretary of the department dealing with housing and the law secretary.
The selection committee, constituted by the government, has submitted its recommendations. It is learnt that two names have been recommended for the post of chairperson; one a retired additional chief secretary (ACS) and another serving as ACS. Six names have been reportedly recommended for the member posts.
