Work to develop a township and residential blocks in Jewar Bangar is scheduled to commence next week. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on December 1 began an evaluation of vendors and contractors interested in undertaking development work in Jewar Bangar. The Authority will go through the documents submitted by the construction companies and will award the contract by December 6.A series of tenders that are being evaluated will pave way for works amounting to about Rs 57 crore. "We are going to award work orders to the selected bidders this week. Work shall begin on the ground during the next week. All the vendors and contractors will be asked to adhere to the timeline," said the CEO of the Authority, Arun Vir Singh.The state government has provided funds to the tune of Rs 240 crore to start work on developing the township on an immediate basis. Overall, seven residential blocks or pockets have to be developed in Jewar Bangar to house 3, 627 project-affected families.
