The Alandi Municipal Council (AMC) has set a September 12 deadline to regularize illegal constructions.
The state government's urban development department had issued a notification last year under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act for regularisation of constructions in residential, commercial and industrial zones. However, illegal constructions in buffer zones, red zones, blue lines of rivers, and on hill slopes will not be regularised.
The owners will have to provide complete details of unauthorised constructions approved by licenced architects to AMC by September 12, 2018. The owners would also have to submit Google images of properties, along with details of property tax, sewerage tax and penalty tax on illegal construction. The licenced architect must provide a stability certificate for illegal construction.
AMC sources and activists said that many residents had scrutinised construction plans in the past but didn't bother to apply for regularisation due to expensive charges and tedious process. AMC officials added that there are over one thousand illegal constructions in Alandi.
