The department of town and country planning (DTCP) carried out a demolition in Farrukhnagar on Thursday and cleared 14 acres land of illegalconstructions in three unauthorised colonies.
According to officials, the colonies were located on Joniawas Road and near Anaj Mandi. During the drive, five under-construction houses, 26 damp-proof courses and an office of a property dealer were demolished.
“We have been urging homebuyers that they should not invest their hard-earned money in unauthorised colonies. Those violating the land use and building codes will not be spared. We will not only raze down the property, but will also initiate legal action against them,” said Ved Prakash, district town planner (enforcement), who was also the duty magistrate during the drive.
The area tehsildar has been directed not to register any property in these colonies.
