Housing minister urges govt bodies to adopt green technologies for residential projects

Hardeep Singh Puri, minister of state (Independent charge) for housing & urban affairs has urged all public agencies like housing boards, railways, defence and public sector undertakings (PSUs) to adopt new technologies for their housing projects. “This will provide a further boost to the housing sector,” said the minister. Puri was speaking on the sidelines of a seminar on Emerging Building Materials and Construction Technologies organized by Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) in Delhi on Thursday. In order to overcome the housing shortage in urban areas identification and selection of appropriate building materials and technologies is necessary, said Puri.
