The Haryana government has finally appo-inted two IAS officers as the chairpersons of the twin Rera benches, clearing the decks for the much-awaited authorities to become fully functional.
Additional chief secretary (education) KK Khandelwal will head the Gurgaon bench, while additional chief secretary (health) Rajan Gutpa has been appointed as the head of Panchkula bench, which will deal with Rera cases of the rest of Haryana. A notification announcing the appointment of Khandelwal and Gupta was issued on Saturday.
The chairpersons will have tenure of five years, and they are expected to take charge in coming weeks. “In view of the demand of homebuyers, the state will have two benches of Rera — one dedicated to Gurgaon and the other for rest of Haryana,” said a senior government official. “A notification for the appointment of other members of the authorities will be issued soon to make them fully functional.”
The Haryana government had come up with the draft Rera rules in April and notified H-Rera in July.
