Greater Noida builder held for digging next to highrise

A developer and a supervisor were arrested on Sunday for illegally digging a basement on a plot adjacent to a high-rise building in Sector Beta 2 in Greater Noida. The accused, Ankit Sharma, is the owner of Hi Castle Realtech Limited while Sanjay Tomar is a supervisor. Ashish Shrivastava, SP (rural), Greater Noida, said the two persons were booked for damaging the sewer, water and drainage lines and illegally digging for the basement in monsoon without barricading the area. “Due to the damaged water pipes and heavy rain, there was waterlogging near the boundary wall of 13-storey Spark Divine apartment. The residents got worried and they had protested on Saturday night,” he said. The two persons were booked under sections 336 and 427 of IPC.
