The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) launched an online facility — Unauthorized Construction and Layouts Information System — on Monday to control illegal constructions within its jurisdiction.
HMDA commissioner T Chiranjeevulu said people can provide information on unauthorized structures to HMDA through the online system. HMDA officials will then visit the site and conduct a panchanama and upload inspection pictures and their report.
If it turns out to be illegal, notices would be slapped on the builder and action initiated as per the rules. “The online system has unique features where a complainant can know status of the complaint. It will also help the authority keep tabs on unauthorized structures,” said the HMDA chief.
