Girgaumchawl residents files FIR against builder

FIR against the builder, Mr Manish Shah of M Realty Constructions was filed at the VP Road police station by the residents of the 100 year old chawl. It was filed for allegedly putting their lives in danger as his redevelopment project next door led to a road cave-in. The redevelopment project is of Dariya Mansion on Dubash Lane which has caused a gaping hole in the road, some feet away from the three-storey Contractor Building. Moreover, the BMC’s D-ward office has already issued a stop-work notice to the builder eight days back. It is analysed that the water table was very high which resulted in sliding of sand and water from the cavity under the road, causing caving in. It can very dangerous for the innocent lives living in the chawl.
