The real estate regulator of Punjab has decided to introduce an online complaint facility on its website with a payment gateway so that an aggrieved consumer can file complaint from any part of the state instantly.
Officials at the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Punjab said the regulator is in the advance stage of setting up an online complaint-filing system on its website. After its pilot run, the online system will be made available for the consumers.
At present, aggrieved customers from across the state have to travel to RERA-Punjab office in Mohali to file a written complaint with a bank draft of Rs 1,000. This is an onerous task for a person to travel 250 km from Amritsar to file a complaint. It is felt that this could dissuade them from lodging a complaint. Hence, it is decided by the officials to introduce the online system.
