The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has issued showcause notices to two city-based architects for allegedly furnishing wrong information to the department to procure occupation certificates (OCs) for their clients — owners of two residential buildings — under its self-certification scheme.
During inspection, the teams set up by DTCP to re-examine around 250 properties in licensed colonies that were issued OCs between January 1 and March 31 — found that addition and alterations were done in the houses situated in Sushant Lok after OCs were issued.
In its notice, the district town planner (DTP) wrote, “The photographs attached with the files don’t represent the site. It was found the architects submitted the case files without visiting the site, which is against ethics.”
The DTP directed the architects to reply within 10 working days. Till then, no case files submitted by them will be approved. Officials added that if their replies are found unsatisfactory, the DTP will recommend cancellation of their professional licences.
