The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has decided to reduce prices of flats to be constructed under the UT employees’ housing scheme. The rates are still double the prices of similar flats in the market and some of the CHB flats too.
Earlier, the CHB had estimated Rs 2.08 crore for a three-bedroom hall kitchen (BHK) flats, Rs 1.64 crore for two BHK and Rs 50 lakh for one BHK flats, but as the decision was taken to construct the flats for the UT employees on ‘no profit no loss’ basis, the prices were calculated to be Rs 1.78 crore for 3 BHK and Rs 1.40 crore for two BHK. The prices of one BHK flats are yet to be finalised.
But, the proposed prices are still on the higher side.
