Chandigarh builder booked for duping 150 home buyers
As many as 31 persons have submitted a complaint against a city-based private builder for duping them on pretext of providing flats at cheaper rates under the Pradhan MantriAwasYojna. The victims have submitted a signed complaint copy at SSP public window against the private builder.

The complainants alleged that they were offered fully furnished flats at the affordable rate of Rs 8.5 lakh by the builder around a year ago. Initially they were told to deposit Rs 11,000 as token money. Later, builder asked them to deposit Rs 39,000 in addition and promised them to give the possession of flats within six months.
After taking money from the victims, the builder also gave them a receipt. The complainants alleged in their complaint that around 150 people had deposited Rs 50,000 through cash and cheques to the builder.
After giving money, the accused builder had asked them to take a loan from the bank for paying further installments. Maximum people applied for loans with private banks after completing the documentation. The complainants said the accused builder has a corporate office at Sector 16 and in Mohali.
