BMC issues six notices to Hotel Leela

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has served as many as six notices to the luxury Hotel Leela in Marol, Andheri East, after a routine inspection revealed unauthorised constructions within its premises. Civic officials said while the outer walls were found as per plan, several unauthorised changes had been made internally without requisite permission. The six notices served on March 19 by BMC’s K east ward office were issued under Section 351 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act (MMC), 1888. Section 351 pertains to a building or structure that is constructed, but the construction is contrary to approvals.
