In a letter to all municipal commissioners and other authorities, UDHD principal secretary Chaitanya Prasad has also instructed the municipal authorities not to give occupancy certificates to builders, who are not registered under Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
“The ULBs will provide the list of projects of the last five years in which land proposed to be developed exceeds 500 square metres or the number of flats (in apartments) is more than eight. They have been asked to give the required information, including the builder and promoter’s address, contact numbers, date of approval and plan sanctioned by the competent authority,” Prasad said.
RERA Bihar chairman Afzal Amanullah told this newspaper on Monday that all promoters and builders are required to be registered with RERA by August 31 and the buyers are advised not to purchase any plot or apartment or flat from any developer who is not registered with the authority.
