Around 1,000 affordable segment houses constructed by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) are likely to get ready for possession by April, of which 130 have already been booked.
Amidst a lot of push for affordable houses from the government, that aims ‘housing for all by 2022’, close to 5,000 houses built by IMC and private builders are left unsold in the city.
D R Lodhi, superintendent engineer Pradhan MantriAwasYojana (PMAY), IMC said, “By April close to 1,000 houses in EWS and LIG category will be ready. Of these we have already got bookings for 130 houses.”
The corporation has also received a sum of Rs 1.5 crore as part of the initial booking amount for 130 houses.
