Homebuyers from multiple Amrapali housing projects gathered at the builder’s corporate office in Sector 62 on Sunday and demanded that the state government should facilitate funds to start construction of pending projects.
The buyers said they would be staging continuous protests every Sunday hereafter till their demand is not met.
Homebuyers claimed, while the Supreme Court is resolving the issue of the debt-ridden group which has been accused of diverting funds, the buyers’ state needs to be addressed. “Even as the property of the promoters are attached and financial resolution is being done to pay the debtors, we appeal to the government to keep the plight of buyers as top priority. The corporate collapse of the Amrapali group is important, but the future of 46,000 buyers are now dependent on the government’s decision. We appeal to the state government that the pending apartments be completed as fast as possible. We have been waiting for almost a decade,” said K KKaushal, a homebuyer.
