All rainwater harvesting buildings to be geo-tagged in Indore

Online record of property having rainwater harvesting system will now be maintained by civic body to monitor and promote the self-sustainable system as part of Centre’s Jal Shakti Abhiyaan. Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has started geo-tagging all existing and new rainwater harvesting systems installed in both public and private property. A decision in this regard has been taken up to have record of rainwater harvesting systems in city. This was not the case earlier and property with rainwater harvesting systems could be identified only through property tax records, but only if property owner had availed a one-time rebate in property tax given by IMC.
