1,000 crore Expected from GHMC Property Tax Amnesty Scheme
Despite Covid-19, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) expects Rs 1,000 crore will be added to its coffers in the next 45 days. Under the one-time amnesty scheme for clearing property tax arrears, Rs 2.35 crore has already been added to GHMC’s kitty in the last three days.

Despite Covid-19, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) expects Rs 1,000 crore will be added to its coffers in the next 45 days. Under the one-time amnesty scheme for clearing property tax arrears, Rs 2.35 crore has already been added to GHMC’s kitty in the last three days.
The last date to avail the scheme is September 15. Under the scheme, property owners, who have property tax dues with interest, need to pay just 10% of their accumulated interest along with principal amount up to the 2019-2020 financial year.
GHMC said the scheme was rolled out by the state government to boost the corporation’s revenue amid Covid-19 and earn goodwill among people ahead of elections.
