Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the draft Development Plan (DP) 2014-34 of the city would be approved by March. He said that the government is attempting to give Mumbai its DP 2034 by early next year. The DP is a blueprint for the city’s land use over the next two decades. Mumbai’s Development Plan (DP) 2014-34 was passed in the BMC civic house on August 1 this year.
Fadnavis said that earlier the process of drafting a DP would take almost a decade from the start to its start till the time it’s finally sanctioned. Fadnavis was speaking at an event organized by Observer Research Foundation (ORF) during the release of their report --Endangered Future of Mumbai’s Open spaces.
