Hiranandani Group is set to develop a 3.27 million sq. ft. IT park at Oragadam, in south Chennai. The park would account for more than 50% of 5.8 million sq ft of office space that was absorbed in Chennai last year.
Managing Director of the group, Niranjani Hiranandani informed media that the IT park would come up on a 20-acre site within Hiranandani Parks, a 350-acre integrated township that is being developed on Oragadam-Singaperumalkoil Road. “We are in talks with prospective tenants. We are primarily targeting firms that are looking for facility to set up back-up and disaster recovery operations. We sense an opportunity in this segment as our site was not affected by the 2015 floods which engulfed many parts of the city," he said.
The site already offers world-class residential and recreational facilities and would now encourage a walk-to-work culture too, he said. Oragadam is a developed area with the presence of many global automobile manufacturing firms like Daimler India and Renault Nissan.
