With a rich experience and expertise of over 30 years,Bhupendra Vyas (BG Vyas) is known to be one of the most successful veterans of the vitrified tiles in India contributing to the best management practices and innovative marketing strategies of the overall industry.
BG Vyas has enjoyed a successful stint with well-known and most prestigious brands in the industry like RAK (President) and Asian Granito as COO. At Kajaria, he leads the portfolio for all the operations of Marketing & Sales for Polished Vitrified tiles division driving healthy growth, success and best of trade practices and relations. BG Vyas is also responsible for enhancing the corporate and brand image of Kajaria.
The leadership inititaives, taken under his guidance have uplifted the vitrified industry to the next level all together, making it “The Flooring Material” and has almost taken over natural stone over the years.
This product category was on an introductory phase in 1996-97 till 2000. To popularise the category, BG Vyas arranged various promotional activities, like architect meets, trade partner meets, mason meets, motivating training sessions for dealer’s showroom sales personnel, providing privilege cards for interior designers, and much more! He had a very strategic approach while planning these activities, as he wanted to cover all the spheres of decision making in tile selection.
Through all of these activities, BGVyas introduced vitrified category to the specifiers, but he still had a dream to throw this category to the masses, and trade fairs was the best platform for this. He very strategically and passionately chose all domestic and international fairs where he participated and brought this category to a common platform.
His aggressive approach activated the buyer & specifier fraternity like architects, trade partners etc. Thus, he was successful, in generating demand for the vitrified category.
With all the initiatives taken by BG Vyas, there was a quick acceptance of the product and at that point of time, the vitrified category grew at approximately 20% YOY, from two manufacturers to more than 200 companies at present. The per capita consumption pattern showed an increase from 0.28 to 0.46.
To excite the end users, he made sure to keep enhancing the category portfolio by investing right in the technology that helped the category produce bigger sizes, expanded application areas, as now the category was being used outside the home arena to lobbies, airports and much more. Under leadership of BG Vyas, the category also produced varied surface looks and niche categories.
BG Vyas is a visionary, and has got the best of marketing and selling skills. A good leader, he believes strongly in team work and focus on details.
BG Vyas has a Master’s Degree in Management with a specialization in advanced marketing, advertising, sales promotion and international business from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) – University of Mumbai. He has also been conferred the Best Marketing Professional award for his exemplary contribution towards raising the profile of ceramic industry in India at Las Vegas, USA (2013).
Despite of his busy schedule, BG Vyas likes to indulge into activities like listening to good music, swimming and chess to unwind him. He likes to relax with his family on holidays and enjoys watching plays.Reading books and world economics also interests him.
