Luxury real estate auction house Platinum Luxury Auctions has confirmed the sale of a Tuscan-inspired estate located in the city of Parkland, Florida, an upscale ranch community in western Broward County. Although the final price will not be released until the closing of the sale, Platinum's vice president of operations, David Enriquez, stated that the non-contingent sale is "in excess of $2 million," and "nearly doubled" the auction's reserve price of $1.25 million.
Platinum was the exclusive brokerage and luxury auction representative for the sale, which is scheduled to close within 60 days.
"We're thrilled to have our first Parkland sale be such a tremendous success," added Trayor Lesnock, Platinum's president and founder. "To have eight registered bidders for a home that languished on the marketplace for more than three consecutive years without even a single offer is outstanding." Mr. Lesnock added that per the Multiple Listing Service and Broward County records, the sale will register as the fourth highest price in the entire city of Parkland within at least the most recent, 3-year period, and ranks as the highest priced sale year-to-date in 2016.
The sellers of the property are a local family who elected the luxury auction process when the traditional brokerage sales platform did not produce results. Lesnock noted that an area agent and friend of the family, Keith Neff of Nestler Poletto Sotheby's International Realty, referred the sellers to Platinum. "Keith took a very business-minded approach to solve the problem his friends and clients were facing," Lesnock said. "He has an excellent grasp on the marketplace and knew the property needed something more dynamic in order to find the right buyer."
The purchaser is reported to be a French businesswoman with interests in the equestrian sports. "Interestingly enough, she was in the process of moving her horses to Aspen, Colorado, and was looking to make a property purchase there, until she saw the luxury auction marketing and changed direction," said Chase Boruff, who served as Platinum's project manager for the sale.
Situated on 2.5 manicured acres, the estate includes 7 bedrooms, 6 full and 2 half baths, and nearly 8,900 square feet of interior living space. Prominent features include a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a state-of-the-art home theater, fitness center with wet bar, a Lutron lighting system and a Crestron home automation system. The grounds offer a newly refinished tennis court, a resort-style pool and spa with rock waterfall features, and a screened patio that includes a summer kitchen and ample entertainment space.
