London based New Sparta Asset Management (NSAM) has decided to enter the real estate segment by launching a dedicated SBU to take care of its realty interest. The company has hired Jeff Kirby to head the new division as Managing Director. Kirby comes with a rich global experience of 33 years. Kirby is credited with envisaging, starting, calibrating and running a fund management platform for Central and Eastern European (CEE) real estate development. Kirby also started, raised and shut two other investment funds. One of the closed ventures was anchored by blue chip institutional investors through Netherland based fund house. Kirby will be joined by Stelian Mitu who has previously worked as an Investment Director at New York based $3 billion fund house.
NSAM was launched by Dr. Jerome Booth, who is currently holds the CEO’s position in the firm. NSAM specializes in emerging markets investments and the energy segment to a great extent. It also offers a wide range of investment opportunities including renewable and conventional energy projects in Africa. Speaking on the occasion of the new launch and new appointments, Booth said “Jeff’s experience and energy makes him the ideal person to build a market-leading real estate division within NSAM”.
