Skill Development Trainings for Construction Workers CREDAI
According to a report by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), India will need around 76.5 million strong workforces in India’s Building, Construction and Real Estate sector. But, only 4% of India’s work force is skilled, hence, the urgent need for skilling.

CREDAI forayed into the arena of Skilling sector with its training program ‘’Kushal’’ in 2011 through its Pune Chapter in collaboration with NSDC. Since then, it is conducting regular On-site Training Programs for construction workers at construction sites through its member developers spread across 23 states and 168 city chapters. The trainings are a mix of ‘Classroom’ and on the job training’ of about a month based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) & Qualification Packs(QP) of NSDC aligned for industry specific job role. The trainings also impart soft skill trainings focusing on the social & behavioural habits of the trainees, including health & sanitation, workers’ safety etc. which help the workers to bring significant changes in their lifestyles.
CREDAI has so far trained more than 27,000 trainees across India covering Delhi-NCR, Gurgaon, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and Gujarat. It also intent to start Off- site training in states like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bengal and Bihar. CREDAI aims to skill 1,00,000 construction workers every year.
CREDAI as an industry body has the best understanding of required skills which need to be developed and can easily absorb the trained resources in the industry itself through its members.
