Dulux has been able to continuously spur passion and inspiration via ColourFuturesTM, which helps identify the Colour of the Year. Their study revealed that all the key trends for 2016 had an element of gold in them. The company thus launched Monarch Gold as the Colour of the Year for 2016. It is developed by the company’s Global Aesthetic Centerin collaboration with leading design and colour experts from across the world. Monarch Gold also weaves in beautifully with India’s affinity towards gold that is deeply engraved in the country’s culture, architecture and heritage.
Dulux collaborated with Manish Malhotra to offer Celebrations by Dulux Velvet Touch, a thrilling combination of vibrant festive colours, embroidery work and Indian textiles. These were inspired by the designer’s successful works in fashion and Indian cinema. Dulux Velvet Touch, which is the brand’s flagship interior paint product, includes fashion inspired colours, patterns, luxurious finishes and stencils that add a subtle yet stylish look to walls. Designs such as Celestial, Imperial, Jubilee, Filigree and Embellish celebrate traditional motifs and transforms walls into exquisite portraits. Dulux SuperCover–Colours of the World is a collection of nine palettes crafted by global Dulux colour experts. This innovative product allows consumers to bring the colours of their favourite travel destinations right into their homes.
Dulux Visualizer app introduced in 2014 is a free app that enables user to see in real time what a room will look like in a range of colours before any paint is applied to the wall. This helps customer in making a more informed choice about the right palette to adorn the walls of their home. This award winning app has been updated with extra functionality and will continue to be enhanced with new features. The app now includes extended photo capability – allowing users to visualise their home (including the exterior).
The company is also focusing on reducing its carbon footprint (including VOCs, or volatile organic compounds) by identifying opportunities to promote waterborne paints where possible and offering products with additional sustainability benefits.
