YEIDA allots 561 residential plots
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted 561 residential plots near the site for the proposed international airport in Jewar. The district administration is preparing to restart the process of awarding compensation to farmers whose land will be acquired, after a clutch of petitions were filed in the high court recently demanding higher compensation. The allotments were made through a lucky draw, in an area where Sector 18 of Greater Noida is supposed to come up. The plots were in four categories - 54 plots measured 60 sq m, 128 measured 120 sq m, 12 measured 162 sq m and 367 measured 300 sq m. An Authority official said around 2,200 people had applied for residential plots when the project was launched on January 28. “The last date for application was February 15. We’ve made the allotment at the community centre in Sector P-3,” said an official. Residential plots are in demand as Jewar airport will soon be a reality.
