Realty majors are going extra mile to ensure employee safety and security post lockdown. They are abiding by the guidelines of Central Public Works Department (CPWD) on the use of air- conditioning systems. These guidelines specify settings for temperature, humidity, intake of fresh air, cross-ventilation and other metrics for offices, meeting rooms and malls. Temperature settings are recommended in the 24-30 degree range, and relative humidity at 40-70%. Also recommended are maximum possible intake of fresh air, zero or absolutely bare minimum recirculation of air and adequate cross-ventilation. Companies like Candor TechSpace. Bharti Realty among others are taking extra precautions to maintain air quality. This involves undertaking deep cleaning of cooling coils and cleaning and disinfection of filters to flush out workspaces with fresh air before occupancy, and also periodically monitoring air quality. Candor TechSpace has launched a helpline number for the benefit of people in the campus. They can contact the helpdesk for assistance by calling 1800 103 4000 in case they experience cOVID-19 symptoms while in the campus. Similarly, Bharti Realty has installed treated fresh air units as well as specialised filters in many of its premises. It has also redesigned airflow systems to ensure that a certain minimum volume of fresh air is available per person. DLF is focusing on the deep cleaning of AHUs and filters and will continue doing it every week. It also said fresh air intake will be maintained at 100%, and there will be more filters to clean the outside air before it enters a building.
