In possibly a major boost for revenue, BMC plans a new policy on vacant land tenants, the plots for which were given on lease mostly before Independence. The policy will be tabled before the civic improvements committee on Wednesday. The 610 plots, mostly in Dadar, Sion and Parel, were given on lease prior to the 1970s but are still occupied. BMC said the plots, which are of over 125 sq metres, could be given on lease.
