While speaking at the 7th convocation of Technical University of Kota, the Governor of Rajasthan and Chancellor Kalyan Singh, said that all the four universities of Kota city should play the role of a torch bearer and work shoulder to shoulder with the district administration for the success of Smart City project.

"It is a matter of pride that the government of India has selected Kota to be developed as a Smart City and it is the duty of everyone in the city to make it a success," added Singh.

He called upon to separately constitute a Smart City cell in the universities so that they can better contribute to the project. "Rajasthan in this respect would be the first state in the country where the governor's house has decided to link up universities with the Smart City project," the governor said.

The Technical University of Kota is capable of playing a vital role in seven sectors of the Smart City project that include energy, environment, education, health care, building, transportation, IT and communication, the governor explained.
